I work with students in a very needy area. I also work with students of all abilities. This year we are working on a push of becoming a STEAM school. I'm hoping to allow these three- and four-year-olds to build a love for school through STEAM with the requested career gear and cash register. Dramatic play is a popular area in my classroom, however the resources are limited. This makes it difficult to engage in activities that encourage students to expand their imagination and really expand their play skills. Sorting and pattern making is a great way to help build skills needed for computer sciences that the school aged teachers are working so hard to teach the older students. We double dip and utilize these fine motor utensils, including the gator grabber tweezers and scoops, while sorting and making patterns to increase students interest.
