After starting the school year with 25 individual desks for students to work at, we were unable to gather in a circle or as a group. Removing almost all the desks and replacing them with lap desks and floor seating will enable us to meet as a whole class and build a community of learners. Having the space to create a community of learners is critical to creating a positive learning environment. We will be able to move around the room and give each other the space we need to stay safer.

About my class
