A classroom needs a place designed for students to meet. The item I am requesting will provide my students with a classroom carpet which will enable them to work collaboratively while building classroom community. The carpet will be our primary whole group location, where most of their learning will take place. Students will sit on the carpet to listen to stories being read aloud. They will use this place to work in small groups and to do independent reading. By having their own individual carpet squares, they can maintain social distancing while still getting flexible seating and being part of a group.
