My sixth graders are in need of engaging, independent reading books! A classroom library is a vital part of any middle school English classroom. It helps facilitate a habit of daily reading, and exposes children to a wide array of books to suit their interests.
In sixth grade, students enter a whole new world of reading. The transition to middle school and adolescence requires students to move from reading short stories to regularly reading novels and other longer works. In order to cultivate my students' love of reading and build their reading stamina, I need to provide them with a rich and diverse library of challenging and exciting, contemporary literature.
