My students are an enthusiastic group of Kindergartners who are ready to learn all there is to learn! They come from a Title I school in a low income neighborhood of NY. Most of these students are experiencing a school setting for the first time and are excited about what school has to offer. These visions are no different than students from middle class neighborhoods but as to date, their dreams are about to crumble! If our school doesn't make progress we will close. In the new millennium, how can our students be without updated technology? How can we expect them to compete in the real world with no computer skills? My English Language Learners are struggling to keep up and with very little resources, they will continue to be behind. I believe that technology is essential in today's classroom but we have none. We are constantly being told "There is no money in the budget for that!" Don't our students deserve a fighting chance?
