These materials - magazine subscriptions and books - will allow my students to wrestle with the big ideas, connecting their daily objectives to the guiding questions. With the magazines and higher-level novels, my students will find reading material that meets them where they are and allows them to feel comfortable to break out of that comfort zone. ELA is all-encompassing, and along with the depth of the provided readings, students will also be able to share their ideas, in real-time, with the whiteboards. These materials will make a difference by encouraging a variety of learning models, which brings everyone's voice into the classroom. The push and the pull.
