Adding a variety of materials will help provide a place in the classroom where students can ask questions, search for answers, and observe the world they live in to make meaningful connections to their learning. These items will help students observe, explore, compare, and classify and engage in deeper-level questioning, as well as empower them to research the answers. This will help us develop a discovery area with science and math concepts that creates a space in the room for children to go and further develop their understandings. Children will investigate problems, compare findings with classmates, research theories, ask questions, and make predictions, as well as help build meaningful vocabulary into their day.
