These magazines will provide students with the opportunity to build vocabulary, participate in discussion, build background knowledge, develop writing skills, and simply fall in love with great stories. We will use them weekly during ELA instruction. Students will have the opportunity to work independently and in small groups to read and discuss their learning. Students will be exposed to multiple genres, cultures and perspectives in unique and engaging stories. The magazines will be a great addition to the print-rich classroom I try to maintain for my students. My hope is that students will read powerful stories that will encourage them to pick up books of their own that will teach them about the world around them.

About my class
