The cow eyes needed for this project are going to be dissected. My students will learn how the retina, cornea and optic nerve are attached by dissecting cow eyes. They will get to detach the eye pupil and see where the connection points of all the different parts of the eye are. They will visually see rods and cones in the cow's eyes and detach an actual eye sclera. Using the requested scissors for dissecting, they will get to experience how actual scientists observe and learn from organ dissection. They will learn about lab safety with dissection scissors. They will experience cutting organ of tissue. They will be having a relevant and hands-on experience in science!
