My students will build their math understanding by reading and listening to math stories. These stories align with the required standards of third grade. They will introduce students to concepts in an engaging, safe and friendly way. Students will make connections between the stories and the concepts which will aid in their mastery. My tactile students will gain great understanding of fractions through the use of fraction towers. Third grade is the first time my students will encounter the mathematical concept of fractions. It is imperative that they have tools to best help them understand such a challenging mathematical concept.
