The whole individual must be considered in education. I take into account the psychological and spiritual well being of my kids. My students deserve a classroom that is safe personally, academically, and socially. Leadership and character building cards are a great tool for promoting this integral part of education. In this digital age we live in, technology is accelerating at an exponential rate - can education keep up with it? My students would benefit greatly from reliable technology to interact with. Multimedia is the most popular learning component today. The classroom needs to be well-equipped to meet their needs. It will also promote learning for all types of learning styles. A reliable projector and speakers are essential for meeting these demands. Furthermore, the aesthetic of a classroom is important. I use tables instead of individual desks to promote group interaction. I also have an alternate area set up so students can work individually, or as a group away from other groups. A low coffee table would be ideal for students to place their laptops and materials while working in this area. I can also use this space for mini-lessons that I give to specific students.
