These resources will help students increase their personal independence as well as teach them about shopping, kitchen safety, cleanliness and personal health. Within a cooking lesson, student will practice many life skills. First there is making a shopping list and making healthy choices, budgeting, and shopping. Next, students will practice functional reading skills in following a recipe, as well as applying mathematical skills during measuring. Next is learning all about kitchen safety, as well as how to use small appliances. Finally, cleaning up their workspace and enjoying the outcome of all their work.
