My elementary art students love to create and explore! When they finish their assigned projects, they often have "free time" to choose other artistic experiences. These include drawing, reading, sculpting, building, etc. There is a large area of the art room devoted to the exploration and continued learning through these choices. The goal is to create a warm environment with flexible seating choices and varied art activities for the students to enjoy. Some students may sit in a chair and read a book. Others may choose a bean bag and clipboard to draw. Still, others might want to sit on a rug to build magnetic sculptures. The materials I am hoping to gain through this project will help to create an inviting free time-space in the art room!
