I think having these two Apple iPad tablets will allow me to give my students a new and exciting way to learn. While traditional learning is important and should remain the priority, it is also important to incorporate technology, both because it is our future but also our already present. More specifically, the iPads will give my students the ability to focus mainly on what is being shown to them in an interactive and engaging way. It is no secret that students can become tired, distracted and discouraged with many hours of the same kind of learning. Technology has been brilliant at keeping students interested and entertained while also toning their skills and expanding their knowledge. I think the iPad, and technology in general, is an excellent aid to teachers, as it provides something new that is fun for students and still contributes to their education. I hope to use the technology for reading centers that will be designed to help with their reading and fluency skills. Students will be put in small groups or work individually on a number of tasks in a few different apps that have been proven to help in this essential area of the curriculum. My goal with this is to further tone their skills in a different way than traditional learning. I truly believe that with my personal help in the classroom and with the iPads as an important tool I can accomplish the goal of each of my students in reading and writing.
