I have the privilege of teaching a very diverse group of students with a wide variety of reading interests and levels. Because of this, it's vital that my classroom library be reflective of the readers and be inclusive. It's important that kids be able to see themselves in the literature they read. Reading matters but making sure that student's cultures are represented in what they read is equally important. I would like to use this opportunity to diversify the selections in my classroom library by adding titles representative of the students I teach. There is so much great and inclusive literature available to teens right now and I'd love to get these texts in the hands of students! They are hungry for representation and I'd be so grateful for your help in making that happen!
