I am excited to implement flexible seating into my classroom this year. Studies show that having multiple different areas for the students to choose to do their work helps them stay engaged and can better anchor new learning. Flexible seating allows the children to pick a spot where they will be able to focus, work hard and be a successful learner. Having multiple different options will allow each of the students to find a spot in the classroom that will work best for them. I have noticed in the past that my students are more engaged and are less of a distraction to other students when they are given the opportunity to sit in an area of their choice. By adding these new materials to my classroom this year will ensure that each student is ready to learn.
