The main goal for my class is to provide my students with exposure to all genres of music; however, we lack the resources and funds in order to provide each student with a personalized experience. Materials from the project will be utilized to create a classroom set of binders for students. Each binder will consist of music theory and history tailored to unveil the wonderful world of music. The additional materials will be used as enrichment activities to ensure students are actually grasping concepts and retaining information. Music is essential to a student's growth. Music serves as a tool of expressing human feelings in unique and powerful ways and supports other core areas of learning. Music has been found to improve the intellectual functioning of all children and is known to be essential for cognitive development. My students have demonstrated the will to learn. With help from this project, my students will finally be able to say they have had the experience.
