This project will help expose upper-level high school seniors to a variety of perspectives, likely outside of their own. They will be given the opportunity to read a unique text--one that is written in poem format--about a landmark Supreme Court decision. With this, students will apply poetic analysis to this text to prepare them for the AP English Literature and Composition exam in the spring. The Loving vs. Virginia text will expose students to moments in our contemporary history, namely, the Civil Rights Movement, which will undoubtedly shed light on our current events.
