Many of my students don't get the opportunities to see life outside from our Urban Community, so why not bring a little diversity into the classroom? The Incubator will allow me to give my students a hands-on experience of a life time. School should be fun and memorable...hatching baby chicks and ducklings is something I'm sure my students will never forget.
I not only want to teach my students about life cycles of animals, but I want them to watch it with their own eyes and be a part of making life happen. I want them to candle the eggs and watch life grow inside an egg. I want them to take pride in knowing they did it all! They helped bring life to earth, all while learning about what is going on inside that egg.
I have hatched baby chicks the past couple of years in an incubator that I borrowed and I can't tell you how awesome it is to watch the excitement grow in my classroom. Once we get eggs in the incubator, NO ONE IS ABSENT!!! They are all there, no matter what and are so eager and excited to hear about what is happening on the inside. This is what school should be about. It should be exciting and engaging and that is exactly what these materials will help me achieve in my classroom.
