As mentioned previously, differences are celebrated in our classroom. Students are encouraged to take ownership of their learning and find what works best for them, in order to have success both in the classroom and beyond. This includes giving students the opportunity to have agency and recognize not only what their preferred learning style is, but also the environment that best supports them. For some, this may include sitting at a traditional desk, for others it is sitting or even laying on the floor, and others prefer having the option to get up if they feel they need to. Every student is different, and how they learn is just as unique as they are. Therefore, being able to provide students resources to work in ways that support their needs is critical not just in their learning, but also in the effort to be a more equitable educator.
