If my project is fully funded, I will install this fence in our front yard. Currently, we rarely use this area because it borders the parking lot and driveway. The children like to play tag here, but we need to constantly remind them to stay out of the driveway. Our class believes in the importance of recess and movement breaks. In trying to keep with best practice teaching and the brain science of young student learning, we take mini breaks (5 minutes) during the middle of longer work periods. I would like to be able to use the front yard so that we do not disturb the other classes. When this area is fenced, we will be able to add a rock meditation path. This path will support our mindfulness program. It will allow our students to have somewhere safe and fenced in to go when they have very strong emotions. Clearly, we need this fence to get the most use out of our small property. "Strong Foundations for a Life of Learning"
