We are a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) middle school. As the curator of the library, I know the importance of maintaining materials that are accurate and interesting. Our Media Center is a welcoming space for all reading levels and interests. I offer challenges and celebrations throughout the year to honor our readers. Last year, our school won first place in the first middle school Battle of the Books competition! The students read the 15 Sunshine State Young Reader Award Winning books and competed against other local middle schools and took home the trophy! I'm hopeful we can keep our momentum up this year, even during this time of COVID19. I want to do my part to help my students feel comfortable in the Media Center. I'm not sure what this year will look like, but I am optimistic, and I know we'll never forget 2020!
