I am a lucky to work with a diverse group of students in a high poverty area. In my role as a literacy coach to the teachers and students, I strive to instill a lifelong love of reading and writing. We believe that literacy opens the door to opportunities that reach far beyond the walls of the classroom. We want our students to devour books, to enthusiastically share what their reading, and to seek ways to change the world with their ideas. We believe that time spent reading and learning, access to the right books,and strong explicit instruction will improve the lives of our students.
