Play-based learning is what will mostly take place in my classroom and these manipulatives and supplies will play a huge part in making this year successful. For example, the food and play cleaning supplies will help students engage in real-life tasks in a fun and imaginative way. These tripod grasp writing tools will help teach my students how to properly hold a pencil/marker/crayon. It is crucial for students to learn correct grasp and formation at an early age so that once they start to write, it can flow seamlessly. The other sensory and fine motor activities will allow for tactile learning. Students will be able to learn both academically as well as social/emotionally through play. These experiences should create memories that last with students throughout their lives.
