Sensory materials are an important tool in my classroom we use every day. Sensory toys provide sensory input that many of my students need daily. Most children love to explore the world around them using all their senses but some children with Autism need some help to appreciate the world by using sensory toys. Children with Autism have a preferred way of what and how they want to do things. Use of the sensory toys enhances communication and a longer attention span. My children use the sensory toys while learning to stay on task and after a difficult tasks to release their built up energy.
