These manipulatives I have on my list will help my students that struggle be able to have hands-on experiences in the classroom. It's hard for them to get concepts without actually "seeing" what is going on. They will be able to actually "find" the math instead of just "see" the math! Our children today are such diverse learner's it is most appropriate to have the tools they need just like a job has to have all the tools it requires. We are working on place value and it is so hard for them to understand the base 10 blocks I have on my list will allow them to actually see how everything in the place value system is based on Tena and how regrouping works. The base 10 blocks can be used for addition and subtraction as well so a plus all the way around!
