It is our differences that make us special. I have 5 students that has special needs. Some students come to school with little or no language, some have processing disorders, some have difficulties with social/emotional skills. "We are a box of crayons, each one of us unique but when we come together the picture is complete." It is those differences that make our students special. A big part of our curriculum is teaching through play and literacy. My students would learn a lot about other children's backgrounds with these supplies. I feel that these supplies will help my children understand that everyone is different. Being able to have sensory items that use adaptive equipment will teach students about different disabilities.
