This is my first year in a new school, and I am so excited to have my own third grade math classroom! My old school was extremely supportive of material orders, but sadly I have had to leave those behind, and I am working this year to build a baseline for my new (and future!) classrooms. Each item on my list is carefully chosen to do one of two things: to make my students’ classroom an organized, clean and safe space, which in turn increases the efficiency of their learning; or to take their learning to a level beyond academics. Arts and craft items and social studies supplies are things my students can use to bring their learning to life. This is my top teaching priority in an ever increasing global society, where it feels more pertinent than ever to educate my third graders to be smarter than their elders.
