My students need the opportunity to use technology in everyday learning. They research materials often and use their computers to help with test taking skills. Technology enhances the students learning experience by personalizing their lessons. Don't forget, we have indoor recess where they can play games with their friends. They also have the chance to read books and make videos to teach their peers about different subjects. Students who have trouble reading and writing can use their computers to show case their best work. The first thing we are going to do is research how people, animals, and weather affects the environment. Then we are going to decide if we want a new playground in a wooded area in our town. Students will be able to write their opinion, make a power point or video their responses. Children learn best by using their hands. Manipulates are the best way for them to learn individually and in small groups. Students will use the phones to hear themselves read. This will helps students with fluency and word recognition while they are reading independently. The math manipulates will assist students with adding and subtracting using dices and base 10 blocks. It will also help them see how numbers are made using the base ten blocks (hundreds, tens, ones). Throughout the year we have several PBL projects that require us to build things. I want to give my students the opportunity to have the materials they need for those projects.
