Special education is a wonderful field which offers the chance for increased success that may not be available to students in a regular classroom setting. I plan to incorporate a flexible seating option in the classroom to improve focus and concentration. Classroom chairs are included for a more comfortable option than the out of date chairs currently being used. In addition to this, stability balls and stools will be utilized to help students of many abilities achieve success when completing school work. We have several areas which were trialed with great success for improved academic outcomes. The kids enjoy the option of being able to sit in bean bags, lay on mats on the floor, cushion/pillows etc. I hope to give them more options as these kids deserve the chance for a more diverse seating selection.
