Stella, our school’s therapy dog, needs to be ready to return to school once it has been deemed safe. Like her fellow learners at our school, Stella has been away from school for 6 months. She really would like to return to her normal school routine. With Covid-19, Stella has not had the social opportunities with students. Stella has shown how she is an asset towards our learning communities, but now we need to continue to challenge her until she can return to school. Research has shown therapy dogs in schools help students by increasing school attendance, gaining self-confidence, decreasing learning anxiety behaviors and has also shown positive changes towards learning and improved motivation while at school! We want to provide Stella with healthy dog food and training treats just right for her diet, interactive dog training aids to continue her development, and dog toys to keep her entertained! Providing these essential needs to our therapy dog will show her that we respect her and care for her as much as she does for us. We hope you will stand beside us and show your love and care for not only our wonderful students, but our therapy dog, Stella, who has been a 'pawsitive' addition to our school!
