The chairs we have in our classroom are big and easy to trip over. Many students end up standing up to complete assignments because they don't enjoy sitting in the chairs that are provided. The two types of chairs I chose will allow my active students to move around while completing activities and assignments. They will be able to choose the type of seat they want to sit in each day, as I hope to have several different types of seating available. I often keep one set of lights off throughout the day to help keep the noise level down and set a sense of calmness as my students come into the room. I would like to try the fluorescent light covers to change the color in the room to a calming blue as well.
