Children learn best through exploration. When a child is given the opportunity to explore and discover with math tools before ever being taught how to use them or what they are for, they are given the opportunity to figure out the way things work on their own. Through the use of these different math tools - activities, games, manipulatives - students will have the opportunity to explore on their own the fun of math before ever begin a lesson. Once they have explored and discovered what these tools do we will use them to enhance our math curriculum. The more hands-on the stronger the learning!
