Our unique classroom environment aims to help our students combat previous hindrances in achieving academic success. However, noise from other stations can be distracting for our reading station. We are hoping noise-canceling headphones will increase focus and engagement as our students discover the joys of reading during their independent reading time. Many of our students have struggled to learn in traditional classrooms. Our students are very bright and all have their own strengths and weaknesses; however, not all of them have been given the chance to discover where they excel. Those who struggle with reading can experience additional difficulty with our active and sometimes noisy classroom.
