Our students work hard to achieve great results, and many have to work twice as hard to make up for lost time. They quickly embrace a "growth mindset" for challenges, taking failures along with their successes as they set important goals for their growth. However, numerous students face a range of challenges to their reading growth, and that's where mp3 players can really make a difference. If they have the opportunity to check out audiobooks, or better yet, access their reading selections digitally throughout our curriculum, we know that they will make more significant gains not only in their reading levels, but also in their other classes that depend on comprehending a variety of texts. We want our students to know that many problems have a range of solutions, and that when it comes to improving one's comprehension, one size doesn't fit all. The use of mp3 players in reading, ELA, and other classes could help struggling students unlock significant potential to grow and learn.
