We are requesting stools and cushions. I want the students to feel they have a choice in their learning. Everyone is not the same, so there should be a variety of choices to help students learn. Education should put the student first and fulfill their needs. Students should be able to learn in a comfortable environment. If a chair is uncomfortable to sit in, then their attention is on the chair and not on the lesson. Society keeps trying to put everyone into the same peg hole. Difference is what makes us special. Students with special needs really need option to navigate their way to being successful students in the classroom. The flexible chairs are what I chose to help make that happen for my students in the classroom which I personally consider to also be a community.
