With these new books, my students will be able to choose from a variety of books that will allow them to imagine, dream and explore. These books will be used during Reader's and Writer's Workshop as mentor texts. Students will have access to them throughout the day within our classroom library. Many of these books will be used to explore character traits, theme and narrative writing. Many of my students are learning English as a second language and come from diverse families. These texts will be used as a tool to expose them to different aspects of literature, a variety of reading skills and life experiences.
