The texts that have been selected for this project accompany our second grade reading curriculum. We read a new book out loud as a class each week and then spend the week diving into the text through reading, discussion, writing, and other activities. My goal as a teacher is to encourage students to develop a love for reading and learning. I hope that they will find joy in the books they read and as a result, grow personally and academically. The statistics about students who read speak for themselves. Children that read, even just a few minutes a day, experience significantly higher achievement than students who do not. I hope to use these books to show students that reading is fun and important in their lives. By donating to this project, you will help foster a love for literature and learning in my classroom.
