By donating the wobble chairs to the classroom, the small group instruction area will be able to help meet the special needs of students who require motor movement to stay focused. These chairs are great for all students, and having one for each student at the table will provide an inclusive environment where no student will stand out because of his/her special needs. Last year I had a student who needed one, but he was self-conscious about using it because he didn't want to stand out and be different. Having a wobble seat for each student in the group will help improve focus for anyone who needs to move while learning, without making them feel different. The students love these chairs, and having them at the small group instruction area will also help motivate reluctant students to transition to the table during instructional time. By donating the soft seats, you are giving those students who become easily overstimulated (and sometimes frustrated) an option to continue learning in their own "safe space". Thank you so much for helping these students stay motivated and focused on learning!
