Students will use these kits to perform scientific experiments analyzing chemical reactions. By processing through these experiments students will derive a first-hand understanding of what constitutes a chemical reaction. They will then learn about the interactions between acids and bases. Understanding these fundamental concepts will allow them to understand much of the household chemistry that we all need to be aware of as adults. This will help students understand chemistry--more importantly; understand, embrace, and trust the scientific process. Each student that fulfills this project will have glimpsed the scientific process that professionals around the world use on a daily basis to develop new technologies, analyze data, and fulfill the human experience.
