My students will be able to research information through the Science Spin and Scholastic News magazines to increase not only their knowledge base but have them use some higher order thinking and processing skills through oral presentations about what they learned. The additional books will help students look for those story elements that good readers use and hopefully write a book review that other students will want to read as well. This project also helps students open the doors to their imagination through words. This project will also, create a hook for those students that may be reluctant to read a full chapter book but will read a short article on their curiosity.
