My students need a space to engage their senses. They will be able to use the seating, lights, textured materials, and sounds in the space to use their senses to help regulate their bodies and minds. The project will help create a safe space for students to seek sensory input during their school day. Sensory items in classroom space provide many benefits for students. Students can obtain sensory input and explore the environment around them. Sensory items can help students with behaviors and provide a moment of calm and assist with emotional regulation. Students will learn to use their environment to benefit their learning.
