Many of my students need the basics for the classroom, AND many were not able to/did not bring in school supplies. Many parents also would like to keep updated on and receive extra practice for student learning who do not have access to electronics at home. Though there are interactive lessons with SmartBoards, students are still learning to write, build, and create, and so paper, crayons, and pencils are needed. Instead of always using paper, we use dry erase boards and markers also for interactive learning. I flash dots, they write how many. I say sounds, they write letters. I give equations, they solve and show. Due to Covid, we try not to share supplies and do our best to provide individual learning centers needing paper and cutting.
