My classroom environment is one that attends to many different learning styles. The goal of this project is to meet the sensory needs of the children in my third-grade classroom. It is often difficult, especially for young learners, to sit for extended periods of time before becoming restless or distracted. I'm seeking six active learning stools to allow my students to move as needed while still attending to a lesson or to their individual assignments. I will use these stools in a small group setting in lieu of chairs. This will encourage students to focus more on the content that is being taught. Integrating active learning stools within the classroom will be beneficial to each child's learning and growth. In addition to allowing students to utilize the sensory stools during small group instruction, they may also be used by individuals throughout the day who may struggle with inattentive or restless behaviors. The stools will assist in maintaining focus, encouraging organization, and supporting more active and engaged learning.
