Ukuleles allow for students to incorporate music foundations in a hands-on approach that's fun and gives them opportunities to form ensembles, whole class or small groups, where they can sing and play! Students can play popular music they enjoy on the radio while utilizing musical concepts. This helps students make real-world connections and sparks inspiration to perform for their peers, teachers and family and friends. Giving students good experiences and keeping this spark alive aids in the transition to secondary music where students can choose which ensemble they would like to perform in, such as choir, band, and mariachi.

About my class
