A strong reading foundation is crucial in second grade. This is the grade where students must strengthen learning to read as they are expected to start to read to learn in the third grade. My students are at varying reading levels and each has their own unique interests. A classroom library equipped with a wide selection of books will continue to motivate all of my students to learn to read. Also, students will hopefully start to read to learn as the year progresses. I hope every one of my students gains confidence as a reader this year. Please help my students learn to love to read!
