Our Tree House reading nook is a warm, welcoming place that I want every student to enjoy. In this cozy nook, we have small group reading, complete engaging activities, and pursue independent reading. I believe that each of my students has the capacity to be successful at becoming a fluent reader. Therefore, to assist with that success, I want to provide them with the right resources and opportunities. Having a leveled classroom library from Kindergarten through Fourth Grade in our First Grade classroom will provide that opportunity. From an emergent reader to a fluent reader, students will be able to immerse themselves into a whole new world and explore. With these new leveled books, my students will be able to choose from a variety of books that will allow them to read independently at their own grade level. I have chosen these books with them in mind. They will have book bags that have a book of my choosing and their choosing. By providing a variety of books that are organized for students to pick and choose at their level, empowers them to make choices that are right for them. It also gives them the independence to challenge their minds and grow into avid readers. Imagine...EVERY student reading, learning, and growing!
