Every student wants to come to school and feel comfortable. I want create an environment that is safe, comfortable, and engages student learning for ALL of my 4th grade learners. The different types of chairs, bean bag seats, and collaborative floor work space will allow my students to collaborate in a comfortable, relaxed environment and engage student learning. When students are engaged, learning occurs. This flexible seating will allow students to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them. During independent work times they will choose a location in the classroom that works for them and meets their needs.
