Reading is one of the only moments of a day where a student can sit back, relax, and let their mind wander (and wonder) into a story, a life, an adventure some place, without being controlled or directed. Without good books we create soul-less adults. Books really do take us away and provide us all with zen, inspiration, therapy, confidence, connection, ideas, and love. Reading quiets the mind from the outside world and lets students decompress while nourishing their brains, hearts, and overall well-being. Students need downtime everyday as their lives are jam-packed most days with activities. Curling up with a good book that a child has chosen can be balm to the soul and their busy brains. My goal is to provide this outlet for them each day.
