We will use the raised garden project to begin teaching how everyone can be responsible to grow their own foods. Being self sustaining and leaving a zero footprint as we all live here on Earth is a topic we all need to understand and commit to. A designated garden area will help highlight to the entire school and we can all grow our own food and leave the world a better place than we found it. There is a need for a raised Garden Kit as well as bags of garden soil. Scholars will bring in seeds and tools for gardening. Children will have an opportunity to plant seeds for a variety of vegetables that can be grown in the fall as well as in the spring. Fresh new garden soil will ensure our seeds will grow into healthy plants and produce a good crop. The raised bed will help the children know that that this is a special designated are that everyone can take care of as well as benefit from.
